I need some help in fixing solar panel at home, how much it would cost in terms of kwh and also what could be the best idea in terms of cost effectiveness,
1. the solar panel with battery to keep the electricity back up.
2. the solar panel without battery which means direct utilisation of power by means of solar panel.

One better thing about installing solar panels for home is that many local and federal programs provide grants and low interest loans to homeowners to offset the cost of these solar panel systems. You should make sure that you look into any of these programs available and find out if you qualify.

Solar panels use the Sun’s energy to create electrical energy, which people use to power their homes and other devices. Plants use the Sun’s energy to create chemical energy, which they store and use to stay alive and grow. When a person or animal eats the plant and digests it, they get the chemical energy and use it to stay alive and grow.

That’s overly simplified, but it’s basically it, I think.

How many batteries will I need and what size inverter will I need just to run it? Anyone know what size solar panel I should use also? It costs me $40 a month to run this sucker lol. Tryin to save money. Thanks for any help.

If your power costs 20 cents per kWh, then that means the TV consumes 40/0.2 = 800 kWh per month. That would mean that the TV is on for 2400 hours a month, which can’t be right, as there are only about 720 hours in a month. Maybe your electricity costs more, but even with the TV on 24/7, this doesn’t make sense.

I’m all for alternative energies like wind power and solar power, but what will happen now that we have twisted nature to unexpected extremes?

One October day this year we woke up to the effects of a freak hail storm that pelted over 2000 cars breaking windows, snapping off rear-view mirrors and denting any metalwork it landed on, damaged plastic awnings, roof tiles and anything that couldn’t withstand the impact. It even left golf ball sized marks on the sidewalks, cleaner than the rest of the area.

$40 a month suggests that this TV is on a lot. It is your lifestyle to have it on regardless of whether anyone is watching? If so, changing that habit would be the biggest moneysaver.

I would like to know of any construction companies, road crews, or any company that uses solar panels in the Tampa area and throws them away. I like to recycle solar panels by repairing and processing what power I can from them. Know any companies that throw out used solar panels? If so, can you provide the name and number?

And I’m not talking about your landscaping lights.

It’s not a good idea yet as the cost doesn’t equal the savings.

-there is alot more to it than simply buying a panel(S) and plugging in. Same with wind power.

My electric bill ranges from $80 in the summer to $120 in the winter.

This 6kw system costs $20k (http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=6KW+WHOLE+HOUSE+SYSTEM+SOLAR+PANELS+OUTBACK+INVERTER). My electric bill for the year is @ $1200. IT WOULD TAKE 20 YEARS FOR IT TO PAY FOR ITSELF……………..if it lasts that long.
