Most of us need to find cheap solar panels if we are to afford Solar Energy Homes.

Usually the biggest obstacle preventing us installing solar panels is the cost.  Yes, we want to help save the planet, we want our children and grandchildren to enjoy the countryside, we want to cut our carbon footprint, but we simply cannot afford it.

Well the good news is that you can get cheap solar panels for under $3 per watt, half the price of most solar panels available retail.  You don’t have to buy dozens of them and many of these are UL certified (see below for the significance of this).  Cheap does not have to mean poor quality – far from it.  It is just a matter of knowing where to look and being patient!

If you want to get solar panels as cheaply as possible, realistically you have three options:

  • Buy Solar Panels Wholesale.
  • Find Retail Bargains.  Hunt for bargains such as those we found on Amazon where they are selling the various solar panels at very competitive prices
  • Go DIY.  But only if you are really keen to do this and want to make just a couple of solar panels as a project.  Use one of the recommended “how to make solar panels” guides / kits.  See our DIY Solar Panel Guides review.   A 60 watt panel should cost around $150 – $175, equivalent to $2.5 – $2.92 per watt

With the current state of the economy and the increasing impact of fossil fuels on the Earth’s climate, more and more people want to have a solar panel home.  If you are concerned about the environment or just looking to save money, there are a number of solar and wind power products that both help save you money and help save the planet.

Solar Tiles blending with existing roof tiles

If you want to help the planet by installing electric solar panels, but really don’t like the idea of large PV solar panels being mounted on the roof of your lovely home, solar tiles or solar roof tiles could be the solution you have been looking for.  Solar tiles really are a viable alternative to standard electric solar panels and definitely warrant your consideration if you are going to create your own solarpanel home.

I need some help in fixing solar panel at home, how much it would cost in terms of kwh and also what could be the best idea in terms of cost effectiveness,
1. the solar panel with battery to keep the electricity back up.
2. the solar panel without battery which means direct utilisation of power by means of solar panel.

One better thing about installing solar panels for home is that many local and federal programs provide grants and low interest loans to homeowners to offset the cost of these solar panel systems. You should make sure that you look into any of these programs available and find out if you qualify.

solar panels uses cells or panels to absorb the sun’s energy. That energy is then used to create electricity. how does this compare to light dependent reactions of photosynthesis?

Solar panels use the Sun’s energy to create electrical energy, which people use to power their homes and other devices. Plants use the Sun’s energy to create chemical energy, which they store and use to stay alive and grow. When a person or animal eats the plant and digests it, they get the chemical energy and use it to stay alive and grow.

That’s overly simplified, but it’s basically it, I think.

These tiles are based on ceramic and available in different shades. These tiles can be used on roof top to make water proof and heat proof. SRI value is 95 and hence more effective. Available size 12 x 12 inch. Ideally suitable for Green Homes (Domestic/Industrial). Related searches: Cool Roof, Solar Reflectance Index, www, abceramic.in etc.

yeah, in hot places it saves on AC costs, even painting the roofs white helps a lot they say

How many batteries will I need and what size inverter will I need just to run it? Anyone know what size solar panel I should use also? It costs me $40 a month to run this sucker lol. Tryin to save money. Thanks for any help.

If your power costs 20 cents per kWh, then that means the TV consumes 40/0.2 = 800 kWh per month. That would mean that the TV is on for 2400 hours a month, which can’t be right, as there are only about 720 hours in a month. Maybe your electricity costs more, but even with the TV on 24/7, this doesn’t make sense.

I’m all for alternative energies like wind power and solar power, but what will happen now that we have twisted nature to unexpected extremes?

One October day this year we woke up to the effects of a freak hail storm that pelted over 2000 cars breaking windows, snapping off rear-view mirrors and denting any metalwork it landed on, damaged plastic awnings, roof tiles and anything that couldn’t withstand the impact. It even left golf ball sized marks on the sidewalks, cleaner than the rest of the area.

$40 a month suggests that this TV is on a lot. It is your lifestyle to have it on regardless of whether anyone is watching? If so, changing that habit would be the biggest moneysaver.
